Privacy & Password Protection

You control exactly who can view each of your projects using three privacy levels, set from the Publish tab in Project Settings.

The three privacy levels

• Public: Anyone with the link can view the tour, and it can appear in your Portfolio.
• Private: Only you, logged in as the owner, can view the tour.
• Password-protected: Anyone with the password can view the tour, even without an account.

Setting up password protection

To password-protect a project, set a password that's at least 6 characters long. Once enabled, visitors will be prompted to enter the password before the tour loads. If they enter the wrong password, they'll see an inline error message without the page reloading, so they can simply try again.

Important: testing your password screen

If you're logged in as the project owner, you will not see the password prompt yourself. Owners always have access. To actually test what visitors see, open the tour in an incognito or private browser window, or log out first.

Hotspot-level passwords

In addition to the whole-project password, individual hotspots can carry their own separate password. This lets you gate specific pieces of content, like a particular Article or Image hotspot, independently of your project's overall privacy setting.
