Visitor's Guide

This page is for anyone viewing a shared Lapentor tour. If someone sent you a tour link, here's what to expect.

Opening the tour

When you open a shared tour link, it will generally load right away. A few things might happen depending on how the tour is set up:

  • Password prompt: If the tour is password-protected, you'll be asked to enter a password before it loads. Check with whoever shared the link if you don't have it.
  • Locked project message: If the tour belongs to a free-plan account that has exceeded its plan limits, you may see a "This project is locked" message instead of the tour. This means the tour's creator needs to upgrade their plan to unlock it. It's not something you can resolve as a visitor.

Permissions you might be asked for

  • Motion sensors: On mobile devices, the tour may ask permission to use your device's motion sensors so you can look around by tilting your phone. This is a standard mobile browser permission prompt.
  • Audio: If the tour has background sound or a sound hotspot, your browser will typically show a one-time prompt asking you to allow audio to play, since browsers block audio from autoplaying by default.

Known limitations

  • Fullscreen mode: May not be available on some mobile browsers or devices. This is a browser limitation, not an issue with the tour itself.
  • Embedded tours on iOS: If a tour is embedded via iframe on a different domain than where it's hosted, Apple's security restrictions on iOS can block features like gyroscope, fullscreen, and VR mode for that embedded view. This is a platform restriction, not a bug. Visiting the tour's direct link instead of viewing it embedded avoids this issue.
